Top 5 Songs about Clothing for Kids!
Hello wonderful families! This week’s blog will be a short and sweet one about clothing songs. If you’re enrolled in The Music Class Spring session, you know that we have TWO fabulous clothing songs in this collection. Why? Because it’s wonderful to get some musical learning in when you’re doing something that is a necessary part of your day, like getting dressed in the morning! So, here are a bunch of great songs to do just that!
1. “My Favorite Hat”
This song is about… you guessed it… hats! Time to whip out your favorite sun hat, floppy hat, firefighter hat, or princess tiara and sing about it!
2. “I’ve Got The Shoes”
Did you know that April is Jazz Appreciation Month? There’s no better way to celebrate than with a classic 12-bar-blues song like “I’ve Got The Shoes.” 12-bar-blues is that distinctive sound that birthed both jazz and rock and roll. Go celebrate Jazz Appreciation Month by singing along to "I've Got the Shoes" on The Music Class app!
3. “Blue Suede Shoes”
Ok, so the rest of this blog has a very clear theme – SHOES. I should have changed the title to “Songs About Shoes for Kids (and one song about hats!)” There are just a lot of really excellent songs about shoes. “Blue Suede Shoes” was written by Carl Perkins in 1955, but Elvis recorded a cover in 1956 that skyrocketed the song to the rockabilly classic it is today.
4. “Boogie Shoes”
My personal favorite shoe song is “Boogie Shoes” by KC and the Sunshine Band. Here’s another excellent rendition from the show “Glee!”
5. "I Love My White Shoes”
Last but not least, we would be remiss if we did not include Pete the Cat singing about his white shoes. This is such a fun book series; highly recommend it if you haven’t tried reading them with your kids already!
