Being raised by musicians, Elise Etherton’s music education started before she was born. Growing up, she took formal piano lessons from the age of 5, voice lessons from the age of 11, and added classical guitar starting at the age of 13. In high school, Elise attended All-State choirs, performed in many musicals, and assisted in teaching music classes for young children. Elise graduated from Furman University with a Bachelor Degree in Music Education and completed her teaching certification at Stone Academy, an arts magnet elementary school in Greenville, South Carolina. In college, Elise founded and directed the a Cappella group, The Furman Belles, was a founding member of an elite choir, The Twelve Peers, and spent her spare time as president of the campus’ improvisational acting group. Elise has taught private voice, piano, and guitar lessons, and is thrilled to be teaching with The Music Class. Elise is looking forward to sharing her love of music with your family.
