Katrina Lexa

Miss Katrina holds a degree in Early Childhood Education from Illinois State University. She got involved in music in elementary school and began singing with various school, church, and community choirs at a young age. Miss Katrina currently teaches preschool at Epiphany Catholic School and music is a daily part of her classroom routine. She always dreamed of being a music teacher but ultimately chose early childhood education knowing that music is an important tool in a child’s development and it would always be a part of her life as an educator. Miss Katrina believes that music is for everyone and that early exposure to music concepts can lead to greater understanding and appreciation of the arts later in life. Miss Katrina is excited for the opportunity to combine two of her greatest passions by teaching music to young children!

Laura Young

Miss Laura holds degrees in both Music Education and Vocal Performance. She was first introduced to TMC when she signed up for classes with her daughter in 2009.  After taking several sessions, she began teaching classes and has never looked back!  She opened "Miss Laura's Music Class" in the summer of 2013 after moving to the Bloomington-Normal Area.  Prior to 2013, Miss Laura taught music for 9 years in both public and private schools, directed an award winning children's choir, & was a private teacher for voice and piano lessons.  Laura believes that love for music is commonly shared by all ages, and especially loves the enthusiasm young children have for music of all kinds.  Her own two daughters are graduates of TMC programs and now play violin and piano.  Laura believes in the value of early childhood music education and hopes you'll join her for this amazing experience!
