George Macias was first exposed to music when he joined the school choir in the 3rd grade, but it was through the music of his father, a self-taught guitarist that Macias was inspired to pursue music more seriously. After receiving a bachelor's in Music Education at New Mexico State University in 2010, he went on to receive a Master's in Guitar and Lute Performance at the University of California, Irvine in 2012. While his wife worked on her PhD in Molecular Biology, Macias shifted course and became a full-time father. It was then that Macias was introduced to The Music Class® after registering his girls and began to share his joy of music with his children. Macias now runs a music business from home with Southridge Music Lessons providing private lessons to all ages and levels in his community and is happy to be a part of The Music Class® family as the center director in Denton, TX. He lives in a full house with his wife, three daughters, parental in-laws, two cats, and dog. Macias also feels strange when he refers to himself in the third person.
