From April 21st-May 6th, The Music Playhouse will run for a 6-week Power Pups pilot session, with limited capacity.
Power Pups supports children with learning challenges, including physical/motor, sensory, emotional, cognitive, body awareness, and self-regulation.
The class will be taught by Laura Ohms, our TMP instructor who is also an LCSW. For more than a decade, Ms. Laura has integrated her social work skills and love for music, including teaching music in special needs classrooms in the public school system and therapeutic day school system. She has a wide array of experiences teaching students with a wide variety of needs.
“My vision is that all families and all children feel welcome in our classes! Creating our Power Pups class is an opportunity to create a safe space for children and adults facing unique challenges. I place a high value on creating community in my classes and hope to help facilitate relationships between children and families throughout our pilot session together. My hope is that we lessen the belief that families are alone in what they may be facing, and to increase hope in broadening a support system through the shared experience that music provides us.” - Ms. Laura laura@themusicplayhouse.com
