10 WEEK SPRING SESSION:  Featuring The Pony Collection, PUPS classes began Saturday, March 19th and ends Friday, May 27th  - ENROLLMENT is OPEN. Our SUMMER SESSION is now open for enrollment. We begin June 11-August 26th. (We will have a break the week of July 4th.) Invite your friends and sign up while your preferred spot is still available!

You are welcome to schedule a Free Trial Class in one of our regular classes based on availability, please contact indianapolis@themusicplayhouse.com or call 317-573-0080 to set up your visit!

Inquire about our new POWER PUPS pilot class (April 28th-June 2nd), which supports children with learning challenges, including physical/motor, sensory, emotional, cognitive, body awareness, and self-regulation. This will be in addition to our Spring session. You may register for one, the other, or, both. We want to provide flexibility and support in whatever scenario is best for you and your child! THE SINGING VILLAGE is a summer choir camp focused on fun, movement, play/improvisation, and vocal exploration and expansion. All voices are welcome, encouraged, and nurtured. No audition required. 2 classes: 1) Ages 4-8, 4:30-6 pm, Monday-Thursday, June 13, 14, 15, 16 and Friday, June 17, 4:30-6:30 pm. 2) Ages 9-12, 6:30-8 pm, Monday-Thursday, June 13, 14, 15, 16. Friday, June 17, 4:30-6:30 pm. Miss Laura and Miss Emily will be team-teaching both choirs. The Music Class app contains all of the session's songs and songbook, and allows you to schedule absences and makeups. Click here for a video tutorial.

The Music Playhouse uses the registration system, app and curriculum of The Music Class, Inc.

Christina Dooley

Music has been a big part of Christina Dooley's life from a very early age, beginning with piano lessons and then singing every chance she could get. She performed around Indianapolis much of her childhood and continued to perform at Indiana University where she was a Singing Hoosier and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Vocal Performance and Theatre. Since then, she has been busy at home with her three boys and volunteering at their schools and church where she is on the worship team. Christina and her husband, Tim, live on the northwest side of Indianapolis, just 5 miles from the house where she grew up.

Emily Good-Perkins

Emily received her Doctor of Education and Master of Education degrees in Music Education from Columbia University. She also received Master of Music and Bachelor of Music degrees in Voice Performance from the University of Arizona and Temple University.  Emily has presented, performed and taught all over the world. She has taught music to all ages, including music classes for newborn babies, and undergraduate and graduate music courses at Marian University, Boston University, and American University of Sharjah.  Emily has published her research in many publications, including the International Journal of Music Education, Philosophy of Music Education Review, and many others.  In addition, her book, Culturally Sustaining Pedagogies in Music Education: Expanding Culturally Responsive Teaching to Sustain Diverse Musical Cultures and Identities, was published by Routledge Press in September 2021. Most importantly, Emily enjoys singing with her three children, Lili, Noah, and Jacob and in her husband, John’s choirs. She is so excited to make music with you!

Laura Ohms

Laura Ohms is a licensed clinical social worker and a lifelong music lover. Throughout her career practicing social work across many settings and with various population groups, she has consistently sought to provide musical experiences to her clients. Laura truly believes in the power of music as a tool to support the mental and emotional well-being of all people. Prior to moving to Carmel with her family, she founded a music business in Chicago where she taught both early childhood music and children with special needs in the Chicago Public School system. One of her most enriching passion projects is directing youth choirs. Laura studied voice and piano in college, traveling with her college choir which is one of her favorite life experiences of all time! In her spare time Laura can be found swimming, biking and running her way through triathlons and supporting others to do the same!  Laura will be teaching this winter in Broad Ripple on Tuesday mornings!
