Aside from teaching with The Music Class, Bowen is also Music Specialist at Sagamore Hills Elementary. There he teaches General Music, Band, Orchestra, and Chorus.

Janelle hails from the multimedia rock/musical theatre scene in New York City with an MFA in Music Theatre from UNLV. However, Janelle credits her early childhood education talent to one of her best friends, Joanna Walchuk, whose calm and "present" demeanor when interacting with children has always been inspiring. Often, Janelle has been referred to as a sort of "Pied Piper" when others observe children she's just met crawl right into her arms and lap.

Being corrected by my kiddo when singing Little Dolphin in the car: "Mom, that's not right: you sang [sings same key I just sang], the song is really [sings key on Dolphin cd]." Favorite TMC Moment
My favorite TMC moment is when I have class where everyone is totally IN it. Completely engaged, singing loud, and laughing together… it feels magical and I know the children (and the grown-ups!) walk away from class feeling a special kind of bond with not just the music, but with their community. THAT is what I want to bring more to the world, belonging, through music.

Jen has been teaching The Music Class for over two decades, and is just as excited to share music with you and your kiddos now as she was on her first day! Although music has always been a part of her life through dance, Jen took a roundabout path to teaching, with stops in construction engineering and city planning before becoming a mom and taking The Music Class! Trying out on a whim after seeing an email saying they were looking for new teachers, Jen found her calling, and teaching you and your little ones has been a dream come true! Since starting to teach in 2004, Jen has also taken on administrative duties, including training and managing TMC centers and schools all over the world.
Favorite TMC Moment
It’s impossible to choose one moment after over 2 decades of teaching. My favorite time as a teacher is when you get that moment of connection with each child. Sometimes it’s a sweet wave, or a shy smile, or an enthusiastic hug that knocks me over, or a kiddo telling me ALL THEIR NEWS as soon as they walk in the door. Mostly, I just love hearing “Ms. Jen!” from them! 😊

Jennifer has a bachelor's degree in Music Theatre Performance from the Hartt School of Music and a master's degree in Elementary Education from The College of New Jersey. Besides performing throughout Europe, she has taught Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten in South Africa and Saudi Arabia. While in Saudi, Jennifer felt very fortunate to be able to bring the gift of The Music Class to expat families living there. Jennifer is thrilled to be back in Atlanta and working for The Music Class again! She went through the program herself as a mom with her own children. She feels proud that she can impart the same musical skills and appreciation to other families that her own children soaked up in class.

Favorite TMC moment
I have a few: when students sing or tap a pattern for the 1st time; when they sing along confidently to their favorite song when they hear it; and lastly, when students join in moving to the music by jumping, twirling, kicking, or clapping. Often their enthusiasm trumps their blossoming coordination and balance skills, and they fall over only to jump back up and try, try again!

Rob received his Bachelor of Music Performance and Master of Music Education degrees from the Manhattan School of Music and also studied at the Juilliard School. He began his career as a trumpet player with the Natal Philharmonic Orchestra in South Africa and has since performed with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and the Atlanta Symphony Brass Quintet. He currently enjoys playing with the Sentimental Journey Orchestra, a jazz band in Atlanta.

Realizing that early childhood is the most important time for music development, Rob decided to leave his position as a school band director - after 12 years in that role - to work with young children. After exploring existing early childhood music programs and not finding one that combined outstanding educational content, music that parents enjoy, and a fun, interactive classroom environment, he decided to create his own program.

The result was that in 1998, Rob developed The Music Class curriculum. He wrote, arranged, and recorded the music while also creating the teaching methods that define the program. He is proud to have built The Music Class with the support of his wife, Michele, and their children, Raina and Brian. Starting at just eight years old, Raina composed many of our most popular songs, and Brian has been singing on recordings since the age of two. Rob is grateful to the many talented teachers whose expertise and passion have contributed to the continued success of The Music Class.

Ryann is a Georgia native who has always been drawn to music. As a baby, she would babble along to her parents' favorite artists, Whitney Houston, Prince, and Michael Jackson. From there on, Ryann began piano lessons, joined her church and school choirs, orchestra, and ultimately found herself in love with musical theatre at a magnet school for the performing arts.

After the film industry took Atlanta by storm, Ryann worked on various television and movie sets and trained under Lisina Stoneburner, acting coach on the television series The Vampire Diaries.

Realizing her heart was in music, Ryann began doing open mics throughout the Metro Atlanta area and became a member of the praise and worship team at her church in Dallas, Georgia.
